Eric Hobbs joined the company in March 2013 and currently serves as our Executive Vice President, Global Operations & Business Transformation, overseeing manufacturing, quality, product engineering and BioFoundry services, hardware operations, and facilities. Dr. Hobbs also served as Chief Executive Officer of Berkeley Lights from March 2017 to March 2022, where he led a ten-fold revenue increase, released multiple transformational products and took the company public in 2020. Prior to Bruker Cellular Analysis, Dr. Hobbs served as a senior executive at FormFactor, Inc. where he designed, developed and launched multiple product architectures and led various functions including operations, R&D and marketing. He is a named inventor on more than 80 U.S. and international patents. Dr. Hobbs earned a B.S. in mechanical engineering from the University of Southern California, a B.A. in liberal arts from Saint Mary’s College of California, and an M.S. and Ph.D. in MES design and microfluidic devices from University of California, Berkeley.
